The McConnell farm was started in the 1940's and has raised tobacco, beef cattle, diary cattle, and apples. Now with the decline of farm income the McConnell farm is creating an agri-tourism farm. The farm sells both fruits and vegetables locally and to wholesale distributors. In upcoming years the McConnell farm would like to expand its facility to host more visitors on the farm. With the grant the McConnell farm will cover some of the building material costs for their new 24ft x 30ft pavilion.
Income is expected to increase $4,250 in the next 2 years.
