Taylor Mackey was looking to increase his time frame for events on his farm. He already operates a successful corn maze. By building a shelter on his property and making that available for rent, his operation has more to offer to a wider-range of visitors. This grant assisted him in paying the site preparation of this project.

Expected income through rentals over the next two years – around $4,000.

"The shelter should increase visitor traffic. 2003 was extremely wet. We had low crop yields and the corn maze income helped pay on an operating note. The shelter should help with our bottom line."
