Doug Clawson is a full time farmer who grew tobacco for 14 years on his family's 75 year old farm. Mr. Clawson diversified his farm operation with cattle and Christmas tree production in the past decade. As opportunities in agritourism expand for 'Choose and Cut' Christmas tree farms, Mr. Clawson plans to expand his operation by building a stable and a road system for primary access to the choose and cut fields. By improving the access and facilities of this Christmas tree operation more customers will be drawn to his farm.

Expected income over a two year period - $55,000.

With the full support and assistance from his local Cooperative Extension Agriculture Agent, Frank Bolick, Doug Clawson's demonstration project has the potential to generate new income for the farm and local economy.
