Greenhouses & Buildings; Livestock

Coy Griffin of Madison County, a former tobacco grower, is improving his horse boarding business by modernizing and expanding his 30-year-old building, which was once a tobacco barn.

He hopes the improvements will help him board more horses and ensure his business remains in operation for years to come. Coy also sells and barters his horse manure as a soil amendment.

"If it wasn't for this grant, I wouldn't have gone this far," Coy said. "It would have taken a long time to do the upgrades. It will make my business pick up."
