$6,000 — Wine Production from Grapes

The DeLucas are purchasing winery equipment and supplies to help realize the value-added income from production of their own wine. They are harvesting from one acre of grapes planted in 2009. They are housing the equipment in a 300-square foot finished space for now, but plan to build a new facility in 2012 so they can offer on-farm wine tasting.

They are also working with other area vineyards and wineries to develop a "Wine Trail," a printed itinerary of farm visits for tourists.
