Cynthia Sharpe and Dwain Swing are improving their milking room and creamery so that they can produce raw goat-milk cheese. With the grant, they purchased steel stanchions and constructed an aging room.

Cynthia is now able to work full-time on the farm with the extra income from raw milk products, which she sells to individuals, restaurants and small grocers.

"This grant enabled us to do what in one day will be the primary component of the whole operation — raw milk cheese production," Cynthia said.
