Ruby Brown Farm has expanded their freezer beef operation by building a dedicated 12’ x 16’ storage building to house 2 commercial freezers for beef and improving their feeding lot. As the reputation for their quality beef has been building in the community, the demand for their product has risen. A more efficient and clean feeding lot and the larger capacity of their on-farm store has greatly assisted with their expansion efforts.
With the expansion of the beef operation, they will be able to increase income by getting the best prices for their premium beef product. They are supplying local restaurants, the Oyster House and Burial Brewery, and are still able to provide smaller quantities to sell from their farm and at retail markets. Plans are to expand the business enough to create full-time jobs for two family members.
