Grant Award: $6,000 — Pizza Farm Agritoursim
Carl and Julie will be transitioning their current successful farming operation from being focused on crop production to producing value-added products and services. They will upgrade infrastructure on the farm by building a professional wood fired pizza, adding a handicapped accessible restroom and a small kitchen. They will offer Farm Stays (lodging on the farm) and will host farm tours and “Farm to Pizza” events, concentrating on growing fruit and vegetable crops directly related to pizza. This new direction for the farm will add value to the crops they already grow to generate addition revenue, will expand their already successful business of hosting guests on the farm and will create a unique destination experience for locals and tourists alike.
