The Aycocks are semi-retired from off-farm work, and have raised livestock since 1987 and fruits and vegetables since 2006. They are one of very few commercial organic fruit & vegetable growers in Avery County.

They will build a greenhouse for seedlings with the WNC AgOptions award and market their produce and seedlings early, potentially adding three extra months to the growing season.
