$9,000 – Goat Husbandry & Cheese-making Workshops Expansion

Cynthia and Dwain are growing the scope of their cheese-making and goat husbandry workshop sessions. They are improving the supporting farm infrastructure as a means of expanding the agri-tourism dimension of their farm operation. Equipment includes: small legal pasteurizer, large stock pots, hot plates for cheese-making work stations, additional molds and other materials for hands-on learning. They are also purchasing additional tools for goat husbandry.

Oakmoon’s workshops are in high demand, attracting customers nationwide who have a positive economic impact when they stay in Bakersville. The workshop fees further diversify and increase the farm income, particularly when cash flow is at its lowest.
