Are more grants for farmers available?
The application deadline for 2012 grants has passed. Check back in August for announcements about availability of funds in 2013.
Grants of $3,000 and $6,000 go to individual farmers demonstrating profitable crop transition. Community grants (a maximum of $10,000) support group projects that improve Western North Carolina's local agriculture system by addressing processing, packaging, marketing or other distribution needs.
