$2,500 — Cut Flowers
Because of this grant “I am expanding my farm production into the floral business.” ~ Russell Lyda
R. Lyda recently purchased seven and a half acres to start growing perennials and annuals for local florist. He has captured a niche market and is looking to expand to more local shops and wholesale dealers in the next year. To increase year round revenues on the farm, Russell will use grant money to purchase seeds, plants, fertilizers, and pesticides.
Expected income from annual flower production $7,500.
Russell Lyda has worked closely with his local extension agent.
